Dawn Marie Edwards, Harp
Dawn Marie Edwards, graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the St. Louis Conservatory, is an internationally renowned harpist. She began her orchestral career while still in school by winning an audition for substitute Principal Harp of the St. Louis Symphony. She also won positions in the National Repertory Orchestra and the Aspen Music Festival. From there, she has won international auditions in Valladolid, Spain; Tampa, Florida; and Sarasota, Florida. While working in Spain, Ms. Edwards toured Europe extensively with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla y Leon as an orchestra member and a soloist. Recordings soon followed of the Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto available on the CineArt label. She has also recorded and toured with great artists such as Wynton Marsalis, James Galway, and Aurora Ginestera.
Opportunities quickly arose for performances with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Austurias, the Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia, and an extended tour with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
Since returning to the U.S., Ms. Edwards has held the post of Principal Harp of the Key West Symphony Orchestra, Miami City Ballet, Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Florida West Coast Orchestra, The Florida Orchestra, and the Bach Festival Orchestra. She has also performed as substitute Principal Harp of the Naples Philharmonic, Orlando Philharmonic, Jacksonville Symphony, and the Savannah Symphony, and the National Orchestra of the Dominican Republic. Her work has also included an extensive list of Broadway Shows that have included Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella.
Her latest passion has been the formation of the Orlando Chamber Soloists that allows her to perform some of the greatest chamber music ever written.
