William Goodwin - Viola
William Goodwin is
a native of Seattle, Washington. As an accomplished violinist and violist, he
has performed and led master classes throughout the US, Europe, Taiwan, and
South America. He currently lives in Tampa, Florida.
Prior to settling in Florida, he served as Artist-in-Residence at Western Kentucky University, and subsequently as Assistant Professor of Violin at Eastern Kentucky University. He currently serves on the faculty of the Pinellas County Center for the Arts while also maintaining a private teaching studio.
He is a founding member of the Kozmik String Quartet, and his interest in the performance of modern music led him to join the Reflections Chamber Ensemble. He performs frequently with The Florida Orchestra, serves as Principle Violist for Opera Tampa, and held the position of Concertmaster of the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra. He has performed at festivals both nationally and internationally, including Orlando Philharmonic Sounds of Summer, Strings in the Mountains, Florida Arts Festival, Luzerne Music Center, The Tapei String Seminar, and the COFES festival held in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
